At Konaka Group, contributing to local communities is one of our guiding principles. In a society with a declining birthrate and aging population, we strive to provide education of the utmost quality. In order to support double-income families, we opened three branches of Kids Duo, an English-language afterschool childcare facility, in Kanagawa Prefecture. Kids Duo provides a balance between English, intellectual education, and physical education, creating a place where children can build an active foundation in an increasingly global age. Following this, we opened our first branch of Kids Duo International in Tokyo, and we are committed to expanding in the future.

Kids Duo is a new type of school for early childhood education that stimulates children's interest and curiosity through English, while acting as a second home. All lessons are conducted in English, allowing children to learn naturally while having fun. Kids Duo offers a variety of programs in English, such as music, crafts, outdoor play and games, helping to instill children with a sense of internationalism.

WORKS

Nursery Teacher

Nursery teachers head one class of children ranging from ages 2 to 6. As there are two or more staff per class, each child can receive the care and attention they need. Some responsibilities of the job include implementation of the intellectual acuity curriculum in Japanese, support for English staff, event management, and contact with parents. English lessons are carried out by a dedicated English language teacher.

Teacher

Teachers may be in charge of elementary school exam prep class, music class, or English classes. Specifically, elementary school exam class includes lessons using shapes and symbols, and involves interviews with parents. Music instruction includes rhythmic instruction, pianica, percussion, and singing instruction. English classes give children the skills they need for their future.

English Director

School directors are entrusted with all aspects of management, such as recruitment and sales promotion. Duties include improving the school environment, carrying out meetings and shift adjustments, and conducting interviews with parents, children and new students. Directors are responsible for recruitment, managing sales and improving overall customer satisfaction. The planned development of new schools will open the door for career advancement in the role of area manager.

    Requirements

    Native-Level Fluency in English
    Minimum 2-Year Associates Degree OR Valid Working Visa
    Must be team-oriented, passionate, enthusiastic, and creative in your approach to teaching children
    Preferred
    Prior experience preferred, but not required
    Contract
    Full-time, 1-year renewable
    Bonuses
    ¥100,000 contract completion bonus

    Work-related transportation costs reimbursed
    Training
    fully-paid, 5-week initial training.
    Vacations and Holidays
    National holidays, plus ten paid holidays per year (available after six months of employment)
    Working hours
    8:30 am - 5:30 pm (including a 1-hour lunch break), Monday-Friday, (occasional Special Events also held on weekends).
    Teachers may be asked to work paid overtime in the mornings or evenings when available.

    ¥250,000/mo.
